Andrej Kaboš and Ervín Polák. Dismissal of the Chief Secretaries of the Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Slovakia, Bratislava in the Context of the Search for “Internal Traitors” at the Beginning of the 1950s. Historický časopis, 2021, 69, 2, pp. 317–344, Bratislava. Abstract: The study is directed towards the regional party purges within the CC CPS Bratislava in the period 1949–1951, and their connection with the campaign known as “searching for the internal traitors”, then occurring within the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. They included the dismissal of the two leading secretaries of the CC CPS in Bratislava: Andrej Kaboš and Ervín Polák. The study is not devoted only to the circumstances of their dismissal, but also to their previous lives and professional careers, which had a lot of influence on the accusations against them. Space is also given to the period after their arrest, conviction and later rehabilitation. The study also provides comparison with the Czech environment. Keywords: Communist Party of Slovakia. Entlassene generalsekretäre des Regionalkomitees der Kommunistischen Partei der Slowakei in Bratislava im Rahmen der Suche nach „inneren Verrätern“ anfang der 1950er Jahre. Die Studie befasst sich mit dem Thema der politischen Säuberung auf lokaler Ebene in den frühen 1950er Jahren. Sie konzentriert sich auf die Situation im Regionalkomitee der Kommunistischen Partei der Slowakei in Bratislava und ihren Zusammenhang mit der Kampagne „Suche nach inneren Feinden“ innerhalb der Kommunistischen Partei in Tschechien. Diese Kampagne begann bereits 1949 in den Regionen von Karlsbad und Olomouc. Es folgten umfangreiche Säuberungen in den Bezirks- und Regionalkomitees. Das Regionalkomitee der Kommunistischen Partei in Bratislava war keine Ausnahme. In der ersten Säuberungswelle verloren der Regionalsekretär Andrej Kaboš und sein Nachfolger Ervín Polák ihre Positionen. Die Studie beschreibt nicht nur die Situation im Zusammenhang mit der Entlassung dieser beiden Sekretäre, sondern auch ihr früheres Leben, ihre beruflichen und politischen Karrieren sowie ihr späteres Schicksal nach ihrer Verhaftung, Inhaftierung und Freilassung. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen des regionalen Parteiorgans in der Slowakei ermöglichen einen Vergleich mit dem tschechischen Umfeld, der zeigt, dass auf den Tagungen des Vorsitzes des Regionalkomitees der Kommunistischen Partei der Slowakei in Bratislava keine ausführliche Diskussion der Fälle stattgefunden hat, ihr Verlauf jedoch ansonsten sehr ähnlich war.
